Fun in the leaves

This morning I braved taking both girls to Alyssa's 2 year well visit. The girls actually were very well behaved but we were there over an hour and it took 5 minutes just to check out! The girls both had their flu shots so we're all set. Alyssa has some unexplained bumps/rash on her feet and the doctor requested a urine sample from her and still wants to have her blood drawn to test for lead. I was supposed to have done this a long time ago but put it off because it didn't seem that necessary. Any moms have thoughts on this? Anyway, it seems that Alyssa went through a growth spurt because instead of being in the 25 percentile for everything, we are now in the 40 percentile! She weighs 26 pounds and is 33.5 inches tall!

Saturday was such a beautiful day so we made sure to get outside and enjoy the weather.

Since Shaylen's mommy has not updated her blog yet, I thought I'd introduce Shaylen Ruby Anderson to you! Here she is less than 24 hours old. What a sweetheart! Congratulations Anderson family!

Saturday morning I took the girls out to the farm to go for a ride in the combine. Alyssa really enjoyed it and I have to admit I did too :-) What happened to me??? We also went to see all the calves and boy, did Alyssa ever cry when it was time to go! I can't wait until I can send her to work with Daddy for an afternoon!

Last Tuesday, we had Mark's family over to our house to help celebrate Alyssa's 2nd birthday party. Kaylee had a blast enjoying Alyssa's new things!

Singing Happy Birthday! She definately knows all the words to that song now.

Here is her dollhouse from Grandpa and Grandma Lucas. Uncle Mike and Aunt Abby bought a cute (annoying) mini van for the whole doll family to ride in! Thanks guys! Just remember, there are paybacks :-) Uncle Matt and Aunt Sarah gave Alyssa a new coloring book and crayons which we use every day.
On Sunday night we took Alyssa into church for the first time. We were hoping she'd at least make it until the sermon before needing the nursery, but she did even better than that! She busied herself with books, crayons, and staring at the kids next to us. She made it the whole time!
I am starting a new job at Pine Rest next week as a case manager in their hospital setting. My hours are going to be somewhat sporadic (on-call) so I have found daycare for the girls two days a week and plan to use our mom's for another two days. I feel so blessed to have found an awesome woman to watch my girls and I know the girls are going to love going to her house each week! Now I'm just hoping to get a decent amount of hours at Pine Rest :) At the end of the month, we're headed down to Florida for about 10 days to enjoy some warm weather and sunshine! This will be our first family vacation and we'll see how the girls do in the car on the way down.
