Butterflies!

Yesterday afternoon after church and lunch, we packed up the kids and headed to check out the butterflies! Although it was pretty much as expected, we had no idea of all the fun things to do outside! The kids had so much fun looking at the sculptures and playing on the play areas. We had thought the butterflies might be fun to do on a rainy day, but we would have missed out on all the outdoor fun! The kids seemed to enjoy the actual butterflies and Alyssa was very disappointed that she wasn't able to hold one. Kaylee seemed to enjoy herself but did say once (or twice) while in the butterflies, "I think it's time to go home now." Bryce was content the whole time just taking in the scenes.

And another big highlight of our weekend...our kids finally were healthy enough to meet their cousin Avery for the first time! Bryce came along too and is finally back to full health, but we still made him keep his distance since he didn't know the difference anyway. The girls were shy at first and a little intimidated by some of the cords (maybe because we talked to them the whole way there about trying to be very careful with Avery and to not be too loud, crazy...etc. ) but once Uncle Mike explained things to the girls, they gradually became a little more daring :)

Love this picture. I am sure these girls will find lots of trouble and have tons of fun in the years to come! We can't wait to be able to do more with Avery this summer!
